Install Stuga with Docker
For the person who set up Stuga.
You need Docker Engine or Docker Desktop with Compose, on an x86-64 or arm64 machine, plus bash and curl.
Install
Section titled “Install”-
On the machine that will run Stuga, open a terminal in the folder where Stuga should live.
-
Paste this command and press Return:
Terminal window curl -fsSL https://github.com/stuga-dev/stuga/releases/latest/download/install.sh | bashIt makes a folder named stuga, downloads Stuga into it, starts it and waits until it is ready.
-
When it finishes, it prints a setup link. Open that link in a browser on a computer that can reach Stuga.
The page says Welcome to Stuga.
-
Create your account and your first workspace, as Create your account and first workspace shows.
Find a lost setup link
Section titled “Find a lost setup link”If the setup page asks for a Setup code (it’s in the link, so you rarely type it), the page tells you where to find it. Follow the page’s instructions to find the code on the computer running Stuga.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The install sets Stuga’s address to this machine’s address on your wired office connection, and invite links carry it. Reserve that address on your router so it doesn’t change.
- By default, Stuga backs itself up daily. It also backs up before an update. Backups go in a backups folder inside the stuga folder.
- If you’re installing on a rented server with a public address, follow the Docker guide’s On a server steps before opening the setup link.
- Open Stuga on other computers and phones: share the address with your team.
- Invite people: create an invite link.
- Update Stuga: when a new version is out.
