What Stuga is

One person installs Stuga on a Mac or with Docker. Everyone else opens it in a browser.

One computer runs Stuga. People open it in a browser, and each person's AI tool works with that person's access.
  • Documents you write together. Several people can work in one at the same time, see who else is there, comment, @mention each other and go back to earlier versions.
  • Databases: tables beside your documents, with saved views, a page for each row, and import from a spreadsheet.
  • Search across the workspace, by the words you type and, once it is set up, by meaning.
  • Answers from your own documents. Ask a question and the answer names its sources. This needs the built-in AI, which the person who set up Stuga turns on.
  • Your AI tools. Claude, Codex and other AI tools can connect to Stuga, read your documents and suggest changes. Each person connects their own, and it reaches only what that person can.

When an AI tool edits document text or database data, its changes arrive as suggestions with its name on them, like tracked changes. By default nothing goes in until someone accepts it. Everything waiting is listed in Review AI edits in the sidebar.

The owner of a document can choose to let AI edits apply directly to that one document. Those changes are still recorded with the AI tool’s name, and can be undone. The built-in co-author follows the same setting.

Who What they do
The person who set up Stuga Installs it, creates the first account, invites people, sets up the built-in AI, and looks after backups and updates.
Everyone else Opens the invite link they were sent, creates an account, and writes, comments and reviews.
An AI tool Reads and suggests changes for the person who connected it, with that person’s access.
  • A workspace holds documents, databases and members. One Stuga can hold several workspaces.
  • After the first account is created, new accounts need an invite link.
  • Your documents stay on the computer where Stuga is installed. Nothing is sent to an AI until someone sets one up or connects one.
