Open a row as a page
You need edit access to create or restore a row’s page.
Open a row
Section titled “Open a row”-
Point at the row, and click the small open button at its left edge, beside the tick box.
The Row panel opens at the side with every field, including columns hidden in the current view, and when the row was created and last edited.
-
Edit any field there. It saves when you leave the field.
Close row closes the panel.
Give the row a page
Section titled “Give the row a page”-
In the Row panel, choose Create page.
The page opens. It’s a document like any other: write in it, comment, mention people, and look at its versions.
-
To get back to the database, click its name at the top left of the page, before the title.
The page takes its title from the row’s first text column when it is created. After that, the two are separate: renaming one leaves the other as it is.
When created, the page is filed in the database’s folder and shared like the database.
Open a row’s page
Section titled “Open a row’s page”A row that has a page shows a page icon at its left edge. Open the row, and choose Open page.
Row pages aren’t listed among your documents, so the list stays tidy, but search finds them.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Deleting a row moves its page to Trash. If you get the row back with Revert in Activity, the page comes back too.
- If a row’s page is in Trash, the Row panel offers Restore page, or Create page for a fresh one.
- Moving the database to Trash takes its pages with it, and restoring the database brings them back.
- If you can only view the database, you can open a page that exists, but not create one.
- Comment and mention people: on a row’s page.
- See earlier versions of a document: recover earlier text.
- Save views of a database: save filters, sorting and grouping.
