See earlier versions of a document

  1. Open the side panels with the Side panels button at the top right, and choose Versions.

Versions are listed newest first, under their day. Each shows its time and who wrote it; character counts appear when a comparison is available. Current marks the one that matches the document now.

  2. Click a version.

A window shows what differs between that version and the Current document.

  3. To compare it with another version instead, choose one under Compare with.

If someone keeps writing while you look, Show latest brings their changes into the comparison.

  1. Open the version, as above.

  2. Choose Restore this version.

The document goes back to that text, for everyone.

Before it restores, Stuga keeps the text it replaces as a version of its own. If you restored the wrong one, restore that newer version to get back where you were.

The document’s owner and the people who look after the workspace can restore. A locked document has to be unlocked first.

When an AI tool’s changes already went in, the banner in the document offers Revert to undo them. If the document has changed a lot since, the banner says to use version history instead:

  1. In Versions, find the last version from before the AI tool’s changes, by its time.
  2. Compare it with the Current document to check everything the restore will undo.
  3. Choose Restore this version.

Anything people wrote after that version is undone too, so check the comparison first.

Open the version and choose Delete, then Delete again. The document itself doesn’t change. The current version can’t be deleted. As with restoring, this is for the document’s owner and the people who look after the workspace, while the document is unlocked.
