Add images and files

Images appear in the text; other files appear as download links named for the file. You need permission to edit the document.

Put the cursor where it should go, then do one of these:

  • Paste it, or drag it from your computer into the document.
  • In the toolbar, choose Insert, then Image… or File….
  • Type / at the start of a line, then choose Image or File.

A small panel shows each upload’s progress. Cancel upload stops one. The image or link appears in the document once the upload finishes.

PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP images show as images. Anything else, such as a PDF or a spreadsheet, becomes a link.

Click an image. A box under it reads Describe this image…. Type the caption; it saves as you type. Press Enter or Escape when you’re done.

Click the file’s link in the document. Your browser downloads it, usually to your Downloads folder.

Each file can be up to 10 MB, unless the person who set up Stuga changed it in Settings → This node → Storage, under Maximum upload size. A file that is too large says so in the upload panel; choose Dismiss to clear the message.

  • Images and files are stored in Stuga, with the document, and come along when the workspace is exported.
  • An AI tool can add images and files too. Placing them in the text is a suggestion, like the rest of its changes, and waits for review by default.
  • For files that belong to a row in a database, use a Files column: see Attach files to rows.
