Let AI edits apply directly to a document

By default, edits to document text and databases wait for someone to accept them.

The item’s owner, or someone with the Owner or Admin role in the workspace, can change this setting. Applied changes stay recorded with the AI tool’s name.

  1. In the sidebar, choose Review AI edits.
  2. Look at AI activity below the list.
  3. Find the tool under Agent and compare Kept, Skipped and Reverted.

If you often reject or undo its suggestions, keep review on.

  1. Open the document or database.
  2. In the ⋯ menu beside Share, under Access, choose Let AI edits apply directly.

The title shows an AI edits apply directly chip. The item’s menu in All documents offers the same setting.

Every AI tool that can edit this item now applies changes without review, including the co-author. The setting belongs to the item, so it applies even while nobody has it open. If a set of AI changes still has undecided suggestions, new changes in that set wait until you decide them.

When you next open a document with unseen direct edits, its notice offers View changes and Revert. In a database, it offers View activity and Revert all. Undo works where possible; later document edits can prevent it, and later database edits may be lost.

In the ⋯ menu beside Share, choose Make AI edits wait for review. New edits wait again; changes already applied stay.
