Anna reads every page before it goes to the client.
That’s the whole idea.
Try it. It’s only an example.
How it works
Tracked changes, for AI.
Only the AI’s edits wait. Yours go straight in.
-
AI suggests.
In green and red, with the AI’s name on them.
-
You decide.
Accept or Reject each one, or all at once.
-
It stays on the record.
Which AI made each change, who asked, and when. You can undo it later.
Your AI
Use the AI you like. Or none at all.
Stuga doesn’t come with an AI. Bring your own, or mix them.
An AI on your Mac
Ollama, a free app, runs it beside Stuga.
Nothing leaves the Mac
An online AI service
Claude, OpenAI, Gemini and more. Paste a key once and your whole team uses it.
Pay as you go
The Claude app you already use
Ask in the Claude app; its edits arrive in Stuga. Each teammate connects their own.
Uses the plan you already pay for
Whichever way it comes in, AI can’t delete or share your documents. Deleting a table row is an edit like any other: by default, it waits for your yes.
Everyday work
Everything you write, in one place.
-
Write together.
Several people at once, with comments and version history.
-
Tables that open into pages.
For clients, projects or tasks.
-
Answers that show their sources.
From your own documents. If the answer isn’t there, it says so.
Setup
Installs like any Mac app.
No Terminal, and no account with us.
-
Download the installer and open it.
It asks for the password you use to install apps.
-
Set up in your browser.
Pick a username and password, then start empty or from a sample.
-
Add your phone, or other people.
Scan the code from Stuga’s icon at the top of the screen, or send an invite link.
Peace of mind
It looks after itself. And it stays on your Mac.
-
Backs up every night.
It keeps the newest three.
-
Updates when you say.
Click Update now in Stuga; it backs up first.
-
Nothing is sent to us.
No tracking. Once a day it checks for a new version; you can turn that off.
-
Open to your Wi‑Fi, not the internet.
People you invite sign in as themselves, from any browser on the same Wi‑Fi.
Questions
Which AI subscriptions work?
Claude’s: the Claude desktop app and Claude Code connect on your plan. ChatGPT’s through Codex, which comes with it. Google Antigravity and DeepSeek Harness connect too, on your Google or DeepSeek account. The ChatGPT and Gemini apps can’t connect; a key from OpenAI or Google works instead, paid as you go.
Can AI change things without anyone approving?
Not by default. A document’s owner can let AI changes go in at once for that document; they’re still named, listed, and can be undone.
Can I keep some documents private?
Yes. Share each document or folder with everyone, or only with chosen people. AI sees only what the person using it can see.
What Mac do I need, and does it have to stay on?
One with an M1 chip or newer, on macOS 15 or later (Apple menu › About This Mac). On your own, your everyday Mac is fine. For a team, it has to be on while others work; a Mac mini is ideal. Stuga starts with the Mac, but with FileVault (the Mac’s disk lock) on, only after someone types the Mac’s password.
Can I use it on Windows, on a phone, or away from home or the office?
On the same Wi‑Fi or office network, yes, in any browser. Away from it, only the Mac that runs Stuga can reach it.
What if something goes wrong?
Backups stay on the same Mac, so turn on Time Machine for copies on another disk. Restoring one takes a Terminal command for now; Back up and restore shows it. Deleted documents stay in the Trash for 30 days.
Can I bring in what I already have?
Partly. Documents come in as Markdown (Google Docs can save one), spreadsheets as CSV (Excel and Google Sheets can). Word files and PDFs can’t yet, nor can Stuga export to them; both are on the way.
Is my data encrypted?
No. Stuga doesn’t encrypt what it stores, and by default neither is the connection over your Wi‑Fi. Keep the Mac somewhere you trust.
Is it free? Is it finished?
Free and open source. It’s early, before version 1.0; only the newest version gets fixes, so update when asked.
